The Play of Strangers

Gosh it’s been a busy month so far. Hullo people! I’m sorry for being so quiet but every time I go to say something it’s usually just raw unfiltered grumpiness, or, if it’s more lighthearted, it’s been oppositional to my aim of getting Lily X Blade attention! That seems a bad thing, considering I want people to look at it, and hopefully, hopefully consider it worth their time to buy and share.

One thing I’m wondering about is vectors. Because right now the only people who really follow links/buy things in my friend space are my friends. I tried to cultivate a big fat twitter following of people who are just interested in my work, but broadly speaking that didn’t seem to happen.

Right now, Lily X Blade has sold (mumble) copies. Right now, the people who wanted to try it are waiting on their copies. They are the early adopters, the people who will, hopefully, play the game, and rule on it, and in some way, pass on the knowledge of the game. Because games are systems, they are processes, and they include other people. If you make a game good, other people will want it so they can keep playing it. It’s a little bit like – not a virus, because ‘viral’ has implications of speed and volume. It’s more like a very gentle little seed, that twists and connects people, through vines, to one another.

I am very curious to hear about the first stranger who plays a game I make.
