Drabble: The Drop

Slide one finger down the bar, watch the moisture on your fingertip swell and bulb before it runs down your finger, into the palm of your hand, where it wells, smears across the lines of your palm, underneath the raise of your thumb and down in a sheet to your wrist, dancing in a trickle down your forearm, sending the cold into you and making you shiver, your hand twitching, before it stops at the elbow and finally falls and for just that one little journey of one drop of water you were able to forget that you’re in prison.
