Today I helped a pal move house. Mostly it was just the cleaning stage of things – scrubbing kitchen walls, cleaning stovetop and all that, you know? One of the things I did, down in his garage, was empty a carton full of packing peanuts. The box was recycleable, but the peanuts weren’t. Since I couldn’t just throw it all in the recycling bin, I came up with what I thought was a clever trick.
First, I held the box up, with a bag at one corner. I tilted the box over my head, to hold it, as I used my hands to tip the rest of the box up, to pour the peanuts into the bag. As I did it, I couldn’t help but reflect on how this particular little moment would be very, very hard to explain in written text, but if I could just draw it, it’d work just fine.
