An Historical Curiosity!

Today signifies the anniversary of the first ever performances of The Mikado at the Savoy Theatre in London. Easily the best-known of Gilbert and Sullivan’s works, and one which visits heavily on their favourite themes such as the ridiculousness of beaurocracy, self-important nobility, general incompetence and the ridiculousness of the aristocracy while framed around an equally farcical romance story.

Here. Enjoy.
