Dolce Cena

For about three years now I’ve referred to an Italian type of meal known as an dolce cena. In hot summery evens across the Etoile, as a tradition brought by the Italian immigrants, rather than multiple hot cooked dishes, you would serve a variety of no-cook desserts, things that gave a sweet chill rather than warm heartiness. To fill in character roleplay, Ryker would talk about a variety of desserts, of complimentary tastes, and provide photos of particularly well-prepared and nice desserts.

I was labouring under the apprehension gained somewhere along the way that I’m referring to a thing that already exists. But after quite a few hours of research, it really seems to come back to the notion that this dolce cena, a meal of desserts, is something I invented entirely myself.

It still seems a good idea to me.
