Being 30, Month One

I still haven’t spent any of my birthday money. I spent a buck on the iTunes store. I bought my friends some games out of the Humble Double Fine Bundle. I grabbed Dead Space when it was three bucks, and The Cave and Stealth Bastard Deluxe when they were both five bucks each.

I clearly still haven’t fixed one of the big problems I’ve had as a child, which was a feeling of uncertainty about any time I wanted something. I think that at some point as a child I noticed that every single thing I wanted came with an opportunity cost of wanting something else. Quest magazine issues meant I couldn’t get any other magazine issues, for example. This has I think shaped me into a man who would rather have nothing, and enjoy the potentials of things I might want, rather than actually want things and decide to have them.
